Position Purpose

The Customer Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the onsite Resource Management program.  Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): monitoring material streams generated at the facility, maintaining shipping documents, scheduling material movements (MSW, metals, organics, non-regulated waste, recyclables), conduct customer facing recycling reviews, develop recycling plans for special project and educate/train onsite employees to the program.  The position will be responsible for managing a team of onsite Customer Operations Associates.  This position will report to the Operations Manager

Essential Job Functions/Key Accountabilities

Management

  • Manage and maintain daily activities to ensure operations are managed in an efficient manner.
  • Train new employees on daily operations
  • Train new employees on milk run operations and expectations
  • Provide shift coverage during lapse’s in coverage
  • Assist in identifying continuous improvement initiatives as it pertains to material collection, material processing
  • Ensure safety is at the forefront of operations
  • Provide insight and feedback during site tours
  • Maintain a clear line of communication between Operations Manager, Primary Customer contact and additional customer contacts.
  • Maintain forklift and facility safety checklists
  • Maintain positive relationships with key contacts within the program
  • Manage the daily logistical needs of the customer’s facility
  • Attend regular safety and operations meetings
     

Manage Inbound and Outbound materials

  • Inbound materials are being recorded and reported to Customer Service and WRJ by customer and commodity
  • Generate BOL and load sheets for outbound materials
  • Populate and deliver electronic load sheet for the billing department
  • Communicate with 3rd party customers regarding delivery times
  • Communicate program details to clients and internal staff
  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly Program Monitoring and Management
     

Material Processing/Equipment Operations

  • Sort materials based on commodity and value
  • Identify opportunities to improve collection methods and increase material value
  • Provide feedback on material contamination and disposition
  • Process production scrap: Bale cardboard, LDPE film, HDPE barrels and blue wrap
  • Grind identified materials to increase material revenue and reduce shipping costs/lb.
  • Stage materials based on weight and value to increase outbound load value
  • Sort HDPE reels, wooden reels and plastic reels
  • Assist in metals management
  • Maintain general housekeeping to exceed customer expectations
  • Assist in management of preventative maintenance (balers, forklift, grinder)
  • Assist in the the development of JSA’s and SOP’s when new work is won or equipment installed

Position Qualifications

Skills & Knowledge

Required

  • Computer Skills – Microsoft office, Excel, Email
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Equipment operation skills (forklift, box truck, grinder preferred)
  • Lock out Tag Out

Preferred

  • CDL License or ability to attain

Experience

Required

  • 1-3 years manufacturing
  • Minimum 6 months – 1year equipment operation
  • Worked in a mature safety culture
  • Success in a fast paced team environment

Preferred

  • Management experience
  • GMP training
  • LEAN Manufacturing
  • Continuous Improvement

Education

Required

  • High school graduate or equivalent

Preferred

  • Trade School with a focus of industrial arts

Other Requirements

  • Lifting 30 lbs. frequently – 65 lbs. several times / day
  • Standing for up to 8 hrs. / day
  • Getting on and off equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
