Casella Resource Solutions (CRS), seeks a Senior Business Manager to directly manage the strategic direction and development of major industrial client services and programs. The candidate will be responsible for managing the creation and implementation of effective Resource Management programs that drive strategic revenue/EBIT growth for Casella while delivering measurable value to its client(s). In addition to managing existing client programs – inclusive of personnel, P&L, and solutions services – the candidate will be responsible for business development, managing site services and providing innovative solutions and strategies for growing Casella’s large account management programs.

The individual will collaborate closely with myriad Casella divisions and personnel to develop and execute the account strategy. The candidate must demonstrate excellent teamwork skills, have an entrepreneurial/creative spirit, and demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and organizational capabilities.



  • Manage, implement and execute on resource management programs that deliver measurable value to Casella and its client(s).

  • Manage and execute strategic development, innovation and continuous improvement within the client program:

    • Drive all business development opportunities in collaboration with the Casella Solutions team and other Casella lines of business

    • Communicate account performance, details and strategy with internal team members

    • Manage the preparation and review of proposals, reports and invoices

    • Monitor relevant compliance and regulatory information applicable to accounts

  • Oversee management of P&L performance, budgeting and profitability of client accounts

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients and maintain strong relationships with all key client decision-makers. Facilitate monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews with each client and track progress and associated program feedback.

  • Manage, train and support all direct reports roles, actions and responsibilities

    • Work with Casella Safety and Senior Operations Manager to provide requisite safety training, oversight and support of all field service representatives

    • Assist in professional development and certifications

    • Recruit, hire and train personnel as needed

    • When applicable, cover the responsibilities of all direct report

  • Ensure all third party environmental service and other partners are qualified and managed according to Casella sourcing protocols

    • Establish relationships with key partners

    • Collaborate with Casella Sourcing to identify and qualify new 3rd party partners to support client programs

  • Lead and drive internal and external meetings

  • Leverage Solutions’ Sourcing, Finance, Account Service teams as well as all other Casella resources (other lines of business, legal, marketing, fleet/equipment, etc.) to support customer management and program implementation.

  • Encourage, promote and maintain a compliant and safe working environment which includes all applicable waste management regulations, DOT and OSHA safety requirements.



  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Candidate must have minimum 5 years of Program or Account Management, preferably in the resource management or environmental service space, or comparable experience

  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating with, and managing large enterprises

  • Proven ability to create innovative programs that drive value for client and company

  • Demonstrated ability to handle adversity and an ever changing customer environment

  • Ability to make sound business decisions under stressful conditions

  • Can work both in independent and team settings

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Customer Relationship Management tools

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic understanding of corporate accounting procedures and methods

  • Extensive travel required
