Casella Resource Solutions (CRS) is seeking a qualified candidate to perform Strategic Account Management activities in the greater Boston area with Casella’s largest customers and a primary focus on institutions.  In this role, the candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the customers’ needs while creating incremental value through innovative solutions which maximize value to our customers and Casella.

Account Management: Manage, monitor and oversee day-to-day operating requirements and advance solutions for all accounts being managed

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for identified accounts
  • Maintain relationships with key decision-makers and manage contract renewal process
  • Work with Division Manager(s) and/or CRS Director to perform contract negotiations
  • Continually advance and implement innovative solutions oriented to maximizing value to customer and profitability to Casella
  • Create opportunities to advance sustainability, consulting and services
  • Identify cross selling opportunities with other Casella lines of business
  • Leverage Casella’s Sourcing team to provide 3rd party services and develop alternative outlets for designated material streams and services
  • Manage and communicate all regulatory changes, impacts and opportunities as it relates to the customer base
  • Develop strategies for providing consultation services including but not limited to material assessments, sustainability services and zero waste solutions
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan and continuous improvement plans for each customer
  • Execute monthly Business Reviews with customer to grow insight on Casella programs and track continuous improvement and value added programs
  • Continually manage profitability for each customer
  • Use CRM to track and manage activities

Business Development: manage the development and execution of new customer acquisitions in the defined market area and segments

  • Perform comprehensive, qualified market assessment of large account opportunities across defined geography and target segments
  • Create a development plan and strategy for achieving stated growth targets
  • Responsible for enabling Casella cross-selling activities and ensuring all that Casella can offer is brought to the table
  • Responsible for proposal development and coordinating with CRS/Division Controllers to complete proforma and management review process
  • Maintain a qualified pipeline of 3x current opportunities
  • Utilize CRM to trach and manage activities and results

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Industry experience is preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Creative solutions oriented problem-solver
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Proficiency with MS applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong work ethic and self-sufficient
  • Positive attitude and team player
