Agronomic Services
Our experienced team specializes in working with farmers to find the right amendments for their growing needs. Many of our field staff have a background in agriculture, and our team includes Certified Crop Advisers and Nutrient Management Planners. We evaluate each site where we provide materials and begin with a soil sample to identify the specific nutrient requirements for the land. We follow through on that assessment and provide a wide spectrum of products tailored to your particular needs, which all meet strict quality standards and possess high nutrient value. Anaerobic Digestion
Casella Organics recovers energy and nutrients from organic byproducts through anaerobic digestion—a natural, oxygen-free process that produces renewable biogas and nutrient-rich fertilizer. We manage and advise on digesters that co-process dairy manure and food residuals, creating a closed-loop system that benefits farms, communities, and the environment.
Our facilities in Massachusetts generate electricity, heat, and stabilized liquid fertilizer used by local farms, reducing reliance on synthetic inputs and fossil fuels. We’re always seeking new feedstocks, especially high-strength liquid food waste, and we offer support for digester operations and sourcing.
Composting
At Casella’s Long Trail Compost Facility, we turn organic materials into nutrient-rich compost through a carefully managed aerobic process. Using a balanced mix of carbon-rich and nitrogen-rich inputs, oxygen, and water, we produce high-quality compost that supports healthy soils and sustainable land use.

Contract Operations
With decades of hands-on experience across the full spectrum of residuals management—from collection and dewatering to facility development and product marketing—Casella Organics delivers reliable, innovative contract operations services.
We support both municipal and private facilities, specializing in land application programs, compost operations, and custom projects. One example: our program with Internal Food & Flavors/Danisco, where Casella manages multiple by-products from the processing of seaweed for its carrageenan. The by-products are sold to fertilizer blends and brought to farms to provide vital micro-nutrients that farmers others wise cannot easily obtain. We’re always ready to take on new challenges, with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service.
